Fishers Freedom Festival This Weekend!

It’s the annual event that kicks off Fourth of July celebrations in Fishers.

Holland G. Park is packed with music and entertainment stages, disc dog competitions, vendor booths, carnival foods, local restaurants and all that is festival fun. The festival is free; the “suggested” admission includes: school supplies, new backpacks, canned foods, diapers, new toys and/or books. Drop boxes will be available throughout the festival.

Saturday, June 24th:
Saturday kicks off with the 5K Event and Family Walk. Registration ends at 8a when the event begins. The Kiddie Run is at 8:45a for children ages nine and under. Shop local at the Juried Fine Arts and Crafts Booths which are open from 9a to 8p on Saturday. Watch the Indy Disc Dog competitions.

Opening ceremonies kick off at 10a with the raising of the flag, beginning of the silent auction and the opening of the children’s tent and food vendor trucks and tents. Enjoy entertainment throughout the day!

Live music at the entertainment tent includes My Delilah Band — Classic Rock (5p) and School of Rock teen tent (starting at 6p). Enjoy tethered hot air balloon rides, dancing, music and more. The evening wraps up with Wright Brothers Band on the outdoor stage in the grass at 7:30p.

Sunday, June 25th: 
Sunday morning starts with a nondenominational church service at 8:45a. The arts and crafts booths are open from 11a to 8p. At noon, enjoy lots of entertainment such as a NASCAR simulator, rock climbing wall, water balloon launch, kids’ tent, laser tag, corn maze and more. Enjoy live music and dancing throughout the day.

The 29th annual Freedom Festival Parade lineup begins at 3p. The route includes: 116th Street, Technology Lane, Lantern Road, North Street, Municipal Dr. and Holland Drive, which will all be closed from 3 to 6p. The parade begins at 4p and has a NEW ROUTE this year. The parade starts at Technology Lane and Lantern Road south on Lantern Rd. to 116th St. west to Holland Dr. and will travel north on Holland Dr. to Ellipse Pkwy. and back on Lantern Rd. and back to Technology Ln. where the parade will end.

Back at the entertainment tent will be tethered balloon rides, live music by Summerfest bands, School of Rock Carmel & School of Rock Fishers (6 to 7p); Brittny & Jaemin (7:15 to 8:15p) and Paul Stretch (8:30 to 9:30p). Big Daddy Caddy will conclude the music and play until the fireworks begin (sometime around dusk).
