Spend the Holidays at Conner Prairie.

We are so lucky to have such an incredible venue in our town. Conner Prairie is ready to warm you up this holiday season with its Interactive History Park and holiday fun!

Conner Prairie goes back two hundred years, and gives you a glimpse into what the days were like when William Conner lived in a log home beside the White River.

4d750ffd7b789.preview-300Do you want to learn what it was like in 1830s during the holiday season? With Holiday Adventures, you can take a trip through Prairietown and watch family celebrations, meals and activities from that time period.

You can also walk through Conner Prairie’s Prairietown by candlelight! The Conner Prairie by Candlelight program (geared for children ages seven and up), gives a 90-minute guided tour…observing holiday celebrations by those in Prairietown.

Have you ever sat down with your children to create a gingerbread house? Some of us are luckier than others in creating houses that are Pinterest-worthy. Come out to the Gingerbread Village at Conner Prairie to view gingerbread masterpieces including houses, buildings, fairy tale themes, winter landscapes and more. They even give awards for this annual competition!

And, if you want to have breakfast or dinner with Santa, Conner Prairie also offers that. Kids get to enjoy breakfast or dinner, decorate a cookie and get to chat with Santa. Registration is required for these events, so click the below link to browse the programs at Conner Prairie.

duke_energy_logo_By improving the air quality in your home, fixing uneven temperature spots and improving the efficiency of your home’s heating systems, your energy usage costs will reduce and you’ll save money on your monthly bill.

In addition, you can earn rebates such as: $200 for HVAC install, $50 for a Health Check, $100 for duct work and $250 for insulating and sealing your attic.

HVAC Install. If your equipment is more than ten years old, or doesn’t seem to be keeping your home’s temperature as comfortable as you’d like this season, you may want to consider an update. Duke Energy will give you $200 for each new, qualifying heat pump and central air conditioner you have professionally installed by a preferred contractor.

Health Check. Have the participating contractor evaluate your unit’s efficiency, improve air quality and get $50 toward improving your heating and cooling system. In addition, your bills will be lowered.

Duct Work. Have a professional review your air ducts. If they aren’t properly sealed, they may be bringing in dirt and other impurities. Take advantage of Duke Energy rebates and lower your energy bills all year long.

Insulation. Be sure your insulation is doing the job it was intended to do. If it’s done properly, insulation not only gives you cost savings all year long, but also improves your home’s air quality.
