Downtown Fishers Revitalization. What’s Next?

So, if your daily commute, taxiing the kids around to practices or shopping sprees include the 116th Street thoroughfare downtown Fishers, you’ve surely seen the changes that have been made.

a031What you’re probably noticing changing the most right now is the corner of 116th and Lantern Road, where the KFC restaurant once sat. This portion of the Nickel Plate District is currently steel beams, but will be called “The Edge” and is slated to open in September. The Edge will include a three-story building that will be anchored by 22,000 square feet of Community Health Network medical offices. In addition, it will house retail shops, offices, restaurants and a 330-space parking structure. The parking garage will offer free public parking on nights and weekends.

And, good for our local economic development, this over 60,000 square foot structure is anticipated to add 100 to 150 jobs. The project, with a total investment of $18 million, will be a great addition to the downtown revitalization.
