It’s Almost Fishers Freedom Festival Time!

The Fishers Freedom Festival is around the corner! Over the course of two days, Holland Park is home to over 50,000 attendees enjoying music, dance, disc flying dogs, food and shopping from local vendors. Take part in this annual event on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th!

th-3There are several ways to take part in the Fishers Freedom Festival. Here’s a rundown of some of the events:

Saturday, June 27th:

-5K Walk/Run and Two-Mile Family Walk (register online by through June 19 for a discounted rate
-Indy Disc Dog Competition: Watch dogs compete on the soccer field. Competitions start at 8 a.m.
-Zip Line and Hot Air Balloon Rides: All weekend, zip line rides are $5 each or tethered hot air balloon rides are $10 per person.
-Children’s Tent: Arts, crafts and fun for children ages 12 and under.
-Beer and Wine Garden: Open until 10:30 p.m. Located on the soccer field near the outdoor stage.
-“Fishers Kids Show Us Your Talent” Show: The talent show begins at 2:30 p.m. Acts may include singing, dancing, musical performance or magic acts.
-Bake-Off Competition: Bring your homemade bread to the Entertainment Tent by 4 p.m. to be judged at the bake-off.
-Hunter Smith Band Street Dance: Located on the outdoor stage in the grass on the east side of the Entertainment Tent. The band will play from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 28th:

-Children’s Parade: Decorate wagons, bikes, trikes and non-motorized transportation with your red, white and blue! The parade route circles Holland Park (Ellipse Boulevard) at 10 a.m. Register the morning of the event. Participants will also receive a goodie bag.
-Children’s Tent: Arts, crafts and fun for children ages 12 and under.
-Zip Line and Hot Air Balloon Rides (details above)
-Beer and Wine Garden: Open until 10:30 p.m. Located on the soccer field near the outdoor stage.
-Main Parade: Taking place at the corner of Technology Drive and Lantern Road, winding through downtown on 116th and ending at Holland Park, the parade begins at 4 p.m.
-Big Daddy Caddy Concert: After the main parade, Big Daddy Caddy will perform until dusk.
-Fireworks: The festival finale will be the fireworks show.

Admission is free; but donations of non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies, clothing, toys, books, baby items, and such will be collected throughout the park. These donations will benefit local families in need. So, bring your donations and enjoy this fun annual event!
