Summertime is so busy with fun activities such as traveling, sports, boating, lounging at the pool and hiking. When you’re at home, you want to spend as little time as possible cleaning it.
Lemons. Between adding lemons to your water and adding citrus to your grilling, lemons are often on hand during the summer. Have a leftover lemon? Slice it in half and use it to brighten your stainless steel fixtures and faucets! Just use a microfiber towel to dry afterwards!
Bleach, Borax and Baking Soda. It’s a trifecta in cleaning your pool that’s getting a lot of use this summer. Scrub the sides of the pool with this trio and save yourself from store bought pool cleaning chemicals.
Citrus-Based Furniture Polish. Tired of the hand prints on your stainless appliances? Apply a citrus-based furniture polish to your refrigerator, dishwasher and such…and eliminate the messy hand prints! The slightly oily residue keeps future finger prints from leaving a mark.
Water. Yes, water. When you step out of the pool or lake for the day, rinse your bathing suits with water. By rinsing with water, it will rid your swim gear of the chlorine, salt water, lake water and oils from your skin to keep them from fading and aging.
Cream of Tartar and Lemon Juice. This duo is a great way to clean your outdoor stainless steel grill. Combine the two and use an old toothbrush to clean the grill. Let it sit for up to two minutes, then wipe away with a paper towel. You’ll have a shiny reflection waiting on you!
Vinegar. Is your dishwasher taking a beating this summer while the kids are on summer break? Periodically add a cup of vinegar on the top shelf of the dishwasher and run a wash cycle without dishes inside the dishwasher. The vinegar will help rinse away impurities, leaving you with an even cleaner and brighter dishwasher.
Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda. Combine these two into a paste and apply to your tile grout for an at-home quick remedy to clean your grout.
Enjoy using these at-home hacks for cleaning this summer!
