Enjoy Spring inside Your Home.

What’s the best way to enjoy the beauties of Spring? Bring the outdoors into your home.

Take advantage of nature’s fragrant and beautiful  flowers by using them as colorful accents within your home. Walk around your landscaping and floral beds outside your home (and even borrow from your neighbors) to take cuttings of Spring’s blooms. Bring them inside and display them in vases, Ball jars, empty bottles and more.

From master baths and powder rooms to kitchens and family rooms, fresh cut flowers are always a great accent of color and a wonderful aromatic delight.

Here are some of Spring’s most fragrant flowers:

The lilac. One of my personal favorites, this delicate bloom in shades of lavender packs a fragrant punch.

The daffodil. A staple sign of Spring, its white petals and yellow center or all-yellow variety are abundant in nature.

The tulip. Another classic sign of Spring, the colors and varieties of tulips are wide ranging. From reds and purples, to yellows and pinks, you can’t go wrong with accenting your home with tulips.

The hyacinth. Ranging in all colors, from white and pink to purple, its thin petals makes a great accent to a floral arrangement.

Enjoy Springtime even when you’re inside your home!

Bicentennial Tree of Hope Ceremonies

The Bicentennial is bringing a lot of fun activities, events and celebrations to our state. Beginning this Saturday, April 23rd, ten trees of hope will be dedicated in parks throughout Hamilton County commemorating Indiana’s Bicentennial.

The “Tree of Hope” program was established by Westfield Eagle Scout Candidate Nick Svendsen and Hamilton County Tourism in partnership with ten cities and parks departments and Sustainable Indiana 2016 for the “Tree of Hope” event.

As a symbol of commitment to environmental sustainability for the future generations of Hoosiers and to pay tribute to our Indiana state parks, the tree dedications will pay tribute to our state park system 100 years ago.

Here’s the even schedule:

The Hamilton County Tree of Hope dedication ceremony schedule is as follows:

Saturday, April 23

11 a.m. – Forest Park, Noblesville | 701 Cicero Road, Noblesville

11 a.m. – Arts and Heritage Depot | 107 West South Street, Arcadia
