It’s the time of year again! The 28th annual Fishers Freedom Festival at Holland Park. The park will be packed with over 50,000 attendees! Enjoy live music, dancing, disc flying dogs, all that is carnival food, beer and wine garden, local restaurant food tents, parades, shopping from local vendors and more.
The Fishers Freedom Festival is Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th! The event kicks off with a concert at the NPD on Friday, the 24th.
Here’s a rundown of just a few of the events:
Friday, June 24th:
-8p: Concert at the NPD, hosted by the Fishers Freedom Festival! JAMBOX Band will perform at the Amphitheater. Beer Garden sponsored by Boston Beer Company. Note: coolers are not permitted.
Saturday, June 25th:
-8a: 5K Walk/Run and Two-Mile Family Walk
-8a: Indy Disc Dog Competition: Watch dogs compete on the soccer field.
-9a: Kiddie Run. Free. For ages up to 9. The first 250 kids will receive a medal and a free t-shirt.
-10a: Opening Ceremonies.
-10a: Children’s Tent. Open until 8p. Many hands-on activities for children up-to age 12. Dozens of activities include face painting, crafts, sand art, children’s raffles, and much more!
-11a: Water Balloon Launch and Dunk Tank. Free; located by the Children’s Tent. Open until about 6p.
-Climbing Wall. Free; located on the large baseball diamond on the west side of the park. Open until 8p.
-Zip Line. Located on the large baseball diamond on the west side of the park. Ticket purchase required, $5/person. Must be within the weight requirements. Open until 8p.
-Beer and Wine Garden opens. Closes at 10:30p. Located on the soccer field near the outdoor stage. Ages 21+; tokens must be purchased to by beer and must display ID each time you enter the Beer Garden.
-6:30p: Live music at the Entertainment Tent, musician Travis Frank.
-6:30p: Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides: (weather permitting) $10 per person to ride. Located on the north east ball diamond.
– 6:30p: Teen Area: Opens
– 6:30p: Live DJ, RADIONOW 100.9 and dancing!
– 7:30p: Stella Luna and the Satellites Band. Outdoor stage in the grass on the east side of the Entertainment Tent.
Sunday, June 26th:
-10a: Children’s Tent: Arts, crafts and fun for children ages 12 and under.
-11a: Juried Fine Arts and Crafts Booths. “Suggested” admission Donations: Canned foods, NEW backpacks, school supplies, diapers, NEW toys, books, and puzzles. Open until 8p.
-12p:Beer and Wine Garden: Open until 10:30 p.m. Located on the soccer field near the outdoor stage.
-4p: 28th Annual Fishers Freedom Festival Main Parade: NEW PARADE ROUTE! The parade will start at Technology Lane and Lantern Road south on Lantern Rd. to North Street through the Municipal Complex on the east side to 116th St. west to Holland Dr. and will travel north on Holland Dr. to Ellipse Pkwy. and back on Lantern Rd. and back to Technology Ln. where the parade will end and disband.
-6:30p: Big Daddy Caddy Concert. After the main parade, Big Daddy Caddy will perform until dusk.
-Dusk: Fireworks. The festival finale will be the fireworks show.
Admission is free; but donations of non-perishable foods and canned foods for the Food Drive, cleaning supplies, clothing, toys, books, baby items, and such will be collected throughout the park. These donations will benefit local families in need. Also, collecting new backpacks and school supplies for the “Roy G. Holland Backpacks for Kids” program. Local scout troops will be collecting your donations along the parade route. So, bring your donations and enjoy this fun annual event!
