Have you heard about the upcoming Geist Greenway project?
The Greenway will take a Duke Energy easement that runs from about Olio Road at Saxony to 113th Street near Geist, then south to 96th Street and transform it into a path, up to 15-feet wide, allowing for connectivity on this East side of Fishers.
Plans for the multi-use trail will expand recreation among the neighborhoods nearby and provide access points to run, walk, bike or skate to the slated new waterfront park. Anticipated to be completed later this year, the Greenway will give a trail experience and also connect with Geist Park, a 17-acre park located along Fall Creek.
Fishers received $3 million in Federal funding which will partially pay for the construction project. The Geist Greenway will also work with developers to provide trail connectivity for future neighborhoods.
Enjoy the many parks and trails that our city provides and continues to create!
